Most Transparent Mushroom Coffee Brands (2026): Every Label That States Its Doses

By , MD, FACOG·

In one line

The most transparent mushroom coffee brands are Four Sigmatic, Spacegoods, VitaCup, MUD\WTR and Shyne — the labels that state a per-mushroom dose and the part of the mushroom used. Om Mushroom is the only brand that also publishes a beta-glucan figure. They are ranked on disclosure, because you cannot judge a dose you cannot see.

#1 Four Sigmatic — Gold standard

Gold standard

Four Sigmatic

Four Sigmatic mushroom coffee (Think) is the most transparent mushroom coffee on the market: 250 mg lion's mane and 250 mg chaga fruiting-body extract, disclosed per cup, with 50 mg caffeine and third-party testing. The trade-off is price, at a premium $1.90 per serving for the instant packets, and only two mushrooms, with no cordyceps in the Think line.

#2 Spacegoods — Highest stated doses

Highest stated doses

Spacegoods

Spacegoods mushroom coffee (Rainbow Dust) is the UK's biggest and has the clearest label of any multi-mushroom coffee: 1,000 mg each of fruiting-body lion's mane, cordyceps and chaga, plus 300 mg KSM-66 ashwagandha. But it is a flavoured, sweet-leaning drink rather than a plain coffee, at about £1.63 a serving, and its lab-testing claim has no published COA.

#3 VitaCup — Clearest pod

Clearest pod

VitaCup

VitaCup mushroom coffee (Focus) is the most convenient way to get a disclosed lion's mane dose: 500 mg fruiting-body lion's mane extract plus 250 mg chaga per K-Cup, with full 110 mg caffeine and added B vitamins and D3, at about $1.50 per pod. The coffee is not certified organic, unusual for a brand at this price.

#4 Om Mushroom Superfood — Only beta-glucan figure

Only beta-glucan figure

Om Mushroom Superfood

Om mushroom coffee is the only mainstream instant blend that prints a beta-glucan number (400 mg) on the label, and at 120 mg caffeine it drinks like a real cup for $1.33 a serving. The catch is that its 2,000 mg of lion's mane and cordyceps is whole-mushroom powder grown on substrate, not extract, with no per-species split.

#5 MUD\WTR — Equal doses stated

Equal doses stated

MUD\WTR

MUD\WTR mushroom coffee is not coffee but a cacao-chai alternative (Original), and the most transparent multi-mushroom blend on the market: 560 mg each of lion's mane, chaga, reishi and cordyceps, with 35 mg caffeine. The mushrooms are grown as mycelium on oats and sorghum, so part of that weight is grain, and $1.67 a cup is steep.

#6 Shyne Coffee — Single ingredient

Single ingredient

Shyne Coffee

Shyne mushroom coffee is the single-mushroom pick: 500 mg of lion's mane (or chaga, or turkey tail) per cup in a sweet, creamy Canadian instant with 70 mg caffeine, a clearer dose than any multi-mushroom blend. But the extract is part mycelium, there is no published lab testing, and the one-time price is CAD $1.73 a cup.

#7 Grateful Earth — Stated doses at a budget brand

Stated doses at a budget brand

Grateful Earth

Grateful Earth mushroom coffee is the sweetened, creamer-included instant of the group: 250 mg each of lion's mane and chaga plus 50 mg L-theanine in a coconut-and-brown-sugar stick with 50 mg caffeine. It is convenient and clearly labelled, but not organic and not cheap at $1.85 a stick direct, near the top of the category despite its budget reputation.

The hierarchy we use

  1. Beta-glucan figure published (Om) — the number that actually compares extracts.
  2. Per-species milligrams plus part used (Four Sigmatic, Spacegoods, VitaCup, MUD\WTR, Shyne, Grateful Earth).
  3. Part used but no milligrams (Everyday Dose, Laird, La República).
  4. Blend total only (RYZE, Pella, Lucid and most others).

Only the first two tiers appear on this page.

Frequently asked questions

Why does mushroom dose disclosure matter?

Because a "2,000 mg six-mushroom blend" could be 1,500 mg of cheap shiitake and 100 mg of lion's mane. Without per-species milligrams you cannot compare two products or build toward the doses used in research. Brands that print the number are letting you check.

What is a beta-glucan percentage and why do so few brands publish it?

Beta-glucans are the polysaccharides most mushroom research measures; the percentage tells you how concentrated an extract is. Mycelium grown on grain can test low, which is why brands using it rarely publish the figure. Om Mushroom is the only coffee brand here that does.

Is fruiting body always better than mycelium?

Usually, for beta-glucan content — but a well-made mycelium extract with a published beta-glucan figure beats an unquantified fruiting-body claim. The honest hierarchy is: published beta-glucan percentage, then stated fruiting-body dose, then everything else.
