Frequently asked questions
Why does mushroom dose disclosure matter?
Because a "2,000 mg six-mushroom blend" could be 1,500 mg of cheap shiitake and 100 mg of lion's mane. Without per-species milligrams you cannot compare two products or build toward the doses used in research. Brands that print the number are letting you check.
What is a beta-glucan percentage and why do so few brands publish it?
Beta-glucans are the polysaccharides most mushroom research measures; the percentage tells you how concentrated an extract is. Mycelium grown on grain can test low, which is why brands using it rarely publish the figure. Is fruiting body always better than mycelium?
Usually, for beta-glucan content — but a well-made mycelium extract with a published beta-glucan figure beats an unquantified fruiting-body claim. The honest hierarchy is: published beta-glucan percentage, then stated fruiting-body dose, then everything else.
