Is BrewLune Mushroom Coffee Good? Dawn Patrol Reviewed

Taste

This is the first product on this site we have drunk ourselves rather than assessed from ingredient lists, and it moved our taste scale. Dawn Patrol tastes like a decent medium-roast instant coffee: roasted, slightly sweet, clean finish. The mushroom note that runs through RYZE (softened by coconut and MCT) and Everyday Dose (softened by collagen) is simply not there — and BrewLune isn't hiding it behind anything, because there is nothing else in the bag. Black, it is better than both. It also holds up iced without turning gritty.

A handful of early testers we spoke to — friends who tried it over a couple of weeks — said the same three things independently: it tastes like coffee rather than a supplement, the lift is smooth enough to use as an afternoon cup, and it is easy to make. We treat those as impressions, not evidence, but they matched ours.

Price and value

$34 for 30 servings is $1.13 per cup one-time and $0.97 on subscription — cheaper than RYZE, Everyday Dose and Four Sigmatic for more disclosed mushroom per cup. It sells direct only, in small batches that have sold through; when we checked (Aug 29, 2026) the site was queuing orders for the next run, which it listed as in production. We score value on the listed price.

Transparency

BrewLune publishes what almost nobody else does: milligrams per species, fruiting body only, extraction method, and minimum beta-glucan percentages for each extract. It names its ingredient suppliers, too. That earns the highest transparency score on the site.

What it hasn't published is a certificate of analysis. The site says batches are tested for heavy metals, mycotoxins, pesticides and potency, and that COAs will appear with each batch — but none is live. Until one is, "third-party tested" stays a claim and lab testing scores accordingly. It also has no finished-product organic certification (the ingredients are organic; the blend is not certified) and, as a young company, no named founder, no returns policy and no shipping terms on the site.

Verdict

The best-tasting mushroom coffee we have tried and the best-disclosed instant we cover, at a fair price — from a small-batch brand that is still proving it can supply consistently. It's our taste pick and our focus pick. If you need a published COA or a brand with retail distribution, choose Four Sigmatic.

Why it's on our radar

A 2025 California start-up that launched with the transparency the big brands still won't offer: per-species doses, fruiting body, beta-glucan minimums, named suppliers. Whether it can supply, test and ship consistently is the open question, and this review will move with the evidence.
