About Mushroom Coffee Lab

Updated

Mushroom Coffee Lab exists because the mushroom coffee category grew to roughly a billion dollars a year in the US faster than anyone started checking labels. Brands disclose doses inconsistently, "clinically studied" rarely means "at this dose", and the review sites that do exist either rate on vibes or refuse to talk about taste and price at all.

We do both. Every product is bought at retail, drunk for at least two weeks, scored on six fixed criteria, and compared — mushroom by mushroom — against the dose used in the named human studies.

The rules

  • We buy everything. No free samples, no sponsored reviews, no paid placements.
  • Scores are set before affiliate status is considered. Some links pay us a commission; that never moves a rank. Details in our affiliate disclosure.
  • Every claim has a source. Health claims cite the study or the label they come from, listed at the bottom of each page with a note on what it supports.
  • We show our dates. Every page carries a visible "updated" date and we refresh rankings at least monthly.
  • Nothing here is medical advice. Pages on pregnancy, medications and health conditions carry a named clinician reviewer before they are published — meet the medical review team.

Who writes it

Author and reviewer bylines appear on every page. See how we test for the protocol, and contact us for corrections — we log and publish them.
